Business Development/Sales Sarasota 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars Sarasota, FL 34240 CFS Roofing and Mechanical Services is a leading Southwest Florida roofing, mechanical/HVAC company, delivering a comprehensive portfolio of turnkey commercial and residential roofing, repair, and maintenance services. We are searching for a Business Development Representative to join our growing Sarasota Area Team! The Business Development/Outside Sales Representative role is responsible for generating new business, expanding the client base, and driving revenue growth through strategic prospecting, networking, and sales outreach. This position requires a proactive sales professional who utilizes Sales Force software to track performance metrics and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure success.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand CFS Roofing Services’ market presence.
- Utilize Sales Force software to track, analyze, and optimize sales performance and lead generation.
- Develop and execute a targeted sales strategy, leveraging prospecting techniques, market research, and networking.
- Identify, qualify, and engage potential clients through cold calling, email outreach, social selling, and industry events.
- Set, track, and achieve KPIs related to lead generation, client acquisition, sales meetings, and revenue targets.
- Effectively utilize Sales Force CRM to log leads, track sales progress, and maintain customer relationships.
- Schedule and conduct prospecting meetings, ensuring a consistent pipeline of qualified leads for Account Managers and Estimators.
- Develop strong business relationships and provide consultative sales solutions that align with clients’ roofing needs.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Roof Guard, Cool Guard, new client sales, and re-roofing services to effectively present and promote company offerings.
- Have the capability to prepare Roof/Cool Guard proposal with review by GM.
- Have the capability to inspect and evaluate roof leak conditions in preparation of proposals including photographing existing conditions and uploading into CRM.
- Collaborate with Account Managers and Estimators to drive sales conversion and follow up on opportunities.
- Actively participate in networking events, trade shows, and industry conferences to establish and nurture business relationships.
- Conduct sales presentations and pitches that align with CFS Roofing Services’ brand and value proposition.
- Regularly review sales data, forecast sales activity, and adjust strategies based on performance insights.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitors, and customer needs to adapt sales strategies accordingly.
- Participate in weekly sales meetings to share insights, challenges, and progress towards sales targets.
- Provide timely and accurate KPI reports to leadership, tracking growth opportunities and performance improvements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven ability to generate new business and exceed sales targets.
- Strong analytical mindset to interpret sales data and adjust strategies for optimal performance.
- Experience working with Sales Force software CRM preferred.
- Highly self-motivated, goal-driven, and results-oriented.

- Strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills in a B2B sales environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to engage and persuade decision-makers.
- Willingness to travel across Southwest Florida for client meetings, networking events, and industry conferences.
- Ability to think strategically and solve problems creatively to provide effective sales solutions.
- Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong customer service skills to maintain long-term client relationships.
- Familiarity with roofing, construction, or related industries is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
- Willingness to learn new CRM platforms, sales tracking tools, and industry software.
