Sales Representative Contract Machining and Fabrication Spare Parts Specialist, Inc Tyrone, GA 30290 The Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and promoting SPS Manufacturing’s contract machining and fabrication services. This role requires strong technical aptitude, proactive outreach, and consistent follow-up to drive sales growth in both existing and new markets. The ideal candidate will understand contract manufacturing processes and be comfortable working with customers in various industries, including aerospace, automotive, heavy equipment, and general industrial markets. Sales & Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, networking, and lead follow-up. Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers to understand their contract machining and fabrication needs. Prepare and deliver accurate, timely quotes based on customer specifications, drawings, and requirements, ensuring appropriate pricing and lead times. Conduct on-site customer visits and plant tours as needed to build rapport and better understand customer projects. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules in alignment with company policies and profitability goals. Track sales opportunities, quotes, and order status through the company’s ERP/CRM system. Collaborate with engineering, estimating, and production teams to ensure customer expectations are clearly communicated and achievable. Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
Account Management & Customer Service:
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, managing ongoing orders and addressing inquiries or concerns promptly. Review purchase orders and drawings for accuracy and resolve discrepancies before production. Follow up on quotes and pending opportunities to convert leads to orders. Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution.
Administrative & Reporting:
Maintain accurate and organized records of customer interactions, quotes, orders, and follow-ups. Provide regular sales forecasts and activity reports to management. Support trade show planning, promotional efforts, and industry networking opportunities as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Technical aptitude with the ability to interpret basic blueprints and machining/fabrication processes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional, customer-first approach. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and CRM/ERP systems. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Willingness to travel locally and regionally as needed.
Education and Experience:
Associate’s Degree in Business, Manufacturing, or Technical discipline preferred; equivalent work experience considered. Minimum of 3 years of sales experience, preferably in contract machining, metal fabrication, or industrial services.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional lifting up to 15 pounds. Comfortable in both office and manufacturing floor environments.
Working Conditions:
This position operates in both office and unconditioned indoor manufacturing environments. Employees may be exposed to loud noise, dust, and lubricants on the production floor and must wear appropriate PPE (hearing and eye protection) in designated areas.
