About the Role The Business Development Coordinator (BDC) plays a crucial supporting role in driving sales by optimizing the velocity of opportunities within our business development process. Reporting directly to the Director of Business Development, the BDC will be responsible for managing and maintaining the BDM’s pipeline, coordinating their schedule, and ensuring that the BDM is fully utilized. Additionally, the BDC will take a proactive role in researching new projects, identifying prospects, and making cold calls to uncover new business opportunities. This position offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you’ll work closely with both the BDM and Division Leaders (DLs) to ensure the seamless progression of sales efforts.
Key Responsibilities Opportunity & CRM Management:
Track and maintain the BDM’s portfolio of open opportunities, ensuring that CRM is updated promptly with the latest activities, client meetings, and prospect developments. Ensure all activities, accounts, and contacts are up-to-date in CRM following each BDM meeting or client interaction. Manage the BDM’s calendar to ensure that it is optimized for maximum efficiency, ensuring all meetings and tasks are aligned with strategic goals.
Research & Lead Generation:
Conduct research to identify new business opportunities and prospects in target markets. Make cold calls to uncover potential leads, introduce RNGD’s services, and book appointments for the BDM and Division Leaders. Assist in the pursuit of strategic business opportunities, ensuring alignment with broader business development goals.
Sales Support & Coordination:
Coordinate with the BDM to schedule meetings, track sales opportunities, and provide administrative support to ensure smooth execution of sales activities. Collaborate with the marketing and proposal teams to generate materials needed for business development efforts and work with subject matter experts for technical specifications. Act as the liaison between internal teams and the BDM to ensure seamless communication and alignment of project opportunities.
Daily Operations & Team Collaboration:
Participate in short daily Work in Progress (WIP) meetings to review the status of ongoing projects and opportunities. Provide general administrative duties as needed to support the sales process. Maintain productive relationships with Division Leads, the Director of Business Development, and the Marketing Manager to ensure all opportunities are effectively tracked and pursued.
Qualifications Education:
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in sales, business development, or a related field. Experience in the construction or infrastructure industry is a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships and engage with clients and internal teams. Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying new opportunities and driving results. Comfortable making cold calls and engaging with prospects. Metrics & Key Performance Indicators Maintain the BDM’s calendar to ensure full utilization. Complete 60 cold calls per day to generate new leads and opportunities. Book a set number of meetings per week with prospects for the BDM and Division Leaders. Regularly update and track CRM activity, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in pipeline management.
