Job Description
The Opportunity:
The OpportunityAvantor is looking for a dedicated and high-energy Life Science Specialist to maintain and advance our local Life Science sales in workflows related to Cell Biology, Genomics, and Proteomics. This role will be a full-time position covering GA, FL, AL, and MS, with travel and responsibility throughout that region.
You will have the opportunity to consultatively sell Avantor’s large portfolio of Life Science reagents and instruments to a diverse group of current and prospective clients.

What we’re looking for
Education:
BS degree in a life science area; Advanced scientific degree (MS or Phd) recommended
Experience:
2-3 years of life science research/lab experience requiredOutside sales experience a plusMust have a firm understanding of and experience within the life science research marketplace: Cell Biology, Genomics, Proteomics, and Microbiology workflow knowledgeExcellent people skills in communicating and collaborating with customers, manufacturing reps, management, team members, and internal divisions (Portfolio, Marketing, and others)Ability to carry on highly technical conversations related to Life Science workflows with decision-makersAbility to work independently and successfully manage time and territoryComputer knowledge, including Microsoft Office and PowerPoint, with a preference for experience in CRM and/or QlikViewThis position requires valid driver’s license to perform essential functions of the roleWillingness to travel to customer locations at least three days a week with some overnight travel (~50% time)How you will thrive and create an impactSell consultatively our entire VWR Life Science product portfolio, with emphasis on Life Science workflows-Genomics, Proteomics, Cell Biology, and bioMarke suppliersIdentify and assist in converting competitive Life Science products to items available from VWR and our distributorsProspect and establish new customers by managing a sales pipeline and developing and delivering Life Science workflow solutions to customers by illustrating Avantor’s value propositionTrain and motivate the VWR general Sales Reps to sell the target Life Science workflow product areas: Genomics, Proteomics, and Cell BiologyAssume overall territory ownership of Life Science Sales, along with VWR general Sales Reps and management team, by attending and hosting regional meetings, strategy sessions, key account blitzes, on-site technical seminars, equipment demonstrations, and Life Science-focused vendor showsEnsure that the VWR Life Science program is the best in classDemonstrate Avantor’s mission and uphold the Avantor Code of ConductPerforms other duties as assigned
