The AEV Coordinator – Sales is a dynamic and multifaceted role that bridges technical, operational, and customer engagement functions within AEV’s ambulance manufacturing process. This position ensures the effective design, production, and delivery of ambulances while fostering strong relationships with dealers and customers. The role demands technical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a detail-oriented approach to maintain operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Tasks:
Oversee AEV merchandise inventory and updates.
Ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations.
Stay updated on OEM recalls and coordinate necessary actions.
Maintain familiarity with AEV layouts, models, and chassis specifications.
Order chassis and manage related schedules.
Process engineering change requests and dealer-specific requirements.
Collaborate with the R D team to develop new options, assign part numbers, and determine pricing.
Prepare, review, and manage proposals, work orders, and drawings for accuracy and timely submission.
Update VIS systems and scrub order files for release.
Work with dealers on the allocations system.
Design and Technical Responsibilities:
Engineer and design ambulance components, including body, cabinetry, chassis, and electrical layouts.
Interpret spec sheets, shop orders, and drawings for initial ambulance designs.
Create and update technical drawings, quotes, and spreadsheets.
Manage change orders and update internal systems as needed.
Provide support for Whelen AOG letters, export projects, and bid specifications.
Customer and Dealer Engagement:
Conduct pre-build meetings with customers and dealers to ensure project alignment.
Serve as the primary liaison between dealers, vendors, and the production team.
Monitor ambulance orders from inception to delivery, maintaining open communication with stakeholders.
Assist dealers with invoicing and customer quotes.
Facilitate plant tours and conduct mid-line and final inspections with customers.
Administrative and Communication Tasks:
Co-manage the AEV dealer portal and ensure content is up-to-date.
Participate in daily status meetings, weekly scheduling meetings, and monthly dealer calls.
Manage GPC rebates and track allocations and schedules.
Create and maintain quote writer codes for system integration.
Additional Responsibilities:
Train new hires and provide peer assistance.
Arrange meals for customer visits and take photos for dealer records and presentations.
Work with vendors to secure part numbers and pricing for new options.
Adapt to changing responsibilities and evolving business needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Quote Writer, MAPICS, AutoSketch, CAD, Cincom-CPQ, and light bar drawing software.
Analytical Skills:
Strong research, problem-solving, and development capabilities.
Organizational Skills:
Detail-oriented with excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
Communication Skills:
Strong people skills with a focus on conflict resolution and professional interaction with customers, employees, and dealers.
Flexibility:
Adaptable to dynamic work environments and evolving responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the ambulance or automotive industry.
Familiarity with ambulance manufacturing processes, parts, and specifications.
Background in customer service or dealer relationship management.
Physical Demands:
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and work with arms above head.
Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
Walk and maneuver within vehicles during tours and inspections.
Visual abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment:
Primarily in an indoor office, with occasional work on the plant floor.
Personal protective equipment required when on the production floor: safety glasses, ear plugs, and safety shoes.
