Structural Steel Sales Location:

Winston-Salem (Office)

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, typically 7:30 AM – 5:00

PM Travel:

Required as necessary

Compensation:

Starting at $80,000+ based on experience Competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, 401(k) with company match, company-paid life insurance, paid time off, and eight paid holidays. Position Summary The Sales Representative is responsible for driving customer development, securing bid opportunities, and executing long-term sales strategies within a defined region. The role focuses on high-value opportunities to increase both market reach and profitability. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the estimating team to develop and submit steel fabrication proposals to general contractors Cultivate strong relationships with customers, ensuring open and ongoing communication Identify bidding opportunities and new prospects within assigned regions and customer categories Research and target markets, industries, and clients to fulfill strategic sales plans Lead generation and conversion efforts, including proactive outreach to prospective clients Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in general contracting firms Maintain regular contact with current and new customers to assess needs and present relevant solutions Develop and sustain relationships with erectors and suppliers to support project execution Provide detailed job information to the Project Management team for smooth handoff Track customer interactions and follow up to strengthen partnerships Travel as required to engage with clients and project sites Continuously seek to expand and enhance the customer base Communicate consistently with estimating, sales, project management, and leadership teams Preferred Qualifications Experience in structural steel fabrication sales or a related field Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Proficient in managing sales quotations and orders within a designated territory Strong organizational and prioritization skills Knowledge of construction principles and industry practices Excellent negotiation and client-facing communication skills Deadline-oriented, especially regarding bid submissions Active engagement in sales performance, margin optimization, and business development Thorough understanding of company products, capacities, and operational constraints Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
