) About the Role We’re looking for a motivated Outside Sales Representative to join our team and drive growth across North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky . This role is perfect for someone who understands the LED lighting industry and has strong relationships within distribution networks and project-based channels (contractors, developers, ESCOs, etc.).Based in the Charlotte area , you’ll be responsible for building and managing relationships, hunting for new business, and representing our brand to distributors, contractors, and other decision-makers. Key Responsibilities Develop and grow sales through electrical distributors, contractors, and direct project opportunities. Identify and close new business with key decision-makers including contractors, lighting designers, and facility managers. Manage all phases of the sales cycle – from lead generation to quoting to closing. Build strong territory coverage across NC, VA, TN, and KY through regular in-person visits and calls. Conduct product demos, contractor counter days, and trainings to educate partners on our product line. Track activity and pipeline in CRM; provide regular sales forecasts and updates. Collaborate with rep agencies (where applicable) and inside sales support teams. Represent the company at trade shows, local events, and customer meetings. What You Bring 3-7 years of outside sales experience in the LED lighting or electrical products industry. Solid understanding of distribution sales and project-based selling (especially in commercial and industrial markets). Existing relationships with distributors, contractors, and specifiers in the territory are a big plus. Strong communication, presentation, and follow-up skills. Self-starter mentality with the ability to manage a multi-state territory. Comfortable with CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and basic lighting calculations or layouts. Willingness to travel regionally (up to 60%). Preferred Experience Experience working with or managing rep agencies. Familiarity with lighting controls, drivers, utility rebate programs, or photometric specs. Exposure to large retail or national accounts is a bonus.
