In this position, the basic function is to perform the sales and marketing functions in the assigned region of the country to achieve the sales and customer growth as directed by the VP of Sales. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. Duties Perform all duties as may be assigned by the VP of Sales and the VP of the company. Perform routine customer phone calls as directed by the VP of Sales. Perform all phone calls on the exact day and time they are to be called with no exceptions. Update the customer call books with every customer call. Promote all Ruggiero Seafood items with every customer call. Introduce all new items with every customer call. Review all items, pricing, and purchase order numbers with every customer call. Remind customers of all items they use. Implement the strategy and tactics developed by the Sales Manager to penetrate and generate sales within your markets. Assist with merchandising and product training to meet and exceed the area sales goal. Manage sales promotions, advertising, bill backs, food shows, sales meetings, and public relations in the assigned area and review results of all efforts with the VP of Sales. Meet with the Sales Manager at least twice a month to review activity and the effectiveness of all programs and strategies. Provide Sales Manager with all necessary reports to review customer status. Complete a detailed customer report for every end user/ new customer visited. Maximize your outside sales calls by having samples of all new items available in your trunk freezer at all times. Maximize your outside sales calls by planning at least one week in advance your schedule. Allocate several days a week for outside sales calls. Schedule under the directive of the Sale Manager a certain number of days per month to do end user calls with your distributor’s sales representatives Review weekly: Weekly orders Weekly sales figures. That customers are maintaining their standard ordering habits. That customers are buying new items, and if not that they are being offered these items with every call. Customers are buying the same items they have in the past and have not stopped ordering them. Call book is being updated properly with every call. Review weekly with the
Ruggiero Seafood End User Sales Representative and VP of Sales:
End users called on in your territory. Review all end user reports that apply to your area. Assist in a plan of action to maximize the end user calls and find the best plan of action to get these end users our products. Review all end users every quarter to make sure they are still receiving our products and assist in introducing them to other items. Understand that the customer is the priority, and all activity supports that priority. Act as a public relations figure and constantly promote the company’s image. Conducts all dealing on behalf of the company with the highest ethical standards and moral integrity. Always follow the Company dress code.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education /
Experience:
College degree and/or five years Seafood/Foodservice sales experience.
Reasoning:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations and problems concurrently. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Other:
People skills required to deal with all types of people. Effective negotiating and persuasion skills. Excellent skill in dealing with customers.
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE
The SalesRepresentative will be evaluated specifically on the following factors: Ability to meet or exceed forecasted sales figures on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Monitoring sales by customer and working with the SalesManager to maximize sales. Controlling area expenses within budgeted guidelines. Conducting written reviews of all customers in the area on a semi-annual basis, and within due dates. Maintain an excellent customer relation. Maintain a corporate image. Maintenance of company dress code. Ability to promote and sell all new items. Ability to locate and bring in new customers. Ability to effectively promote all products to the end users. Ability to effectively schedule company time and maximize on this time. Ability to turn in all reports required by the Sales Manager in a timely fashion.
