Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Outside Sales Representative with strong interpersonal skills, proven sales ability, and a passion for public safety. This role is ideal for former or current professionals in emergency services (e.g., EMTs, firefighters, dispatchers, or law enforcement) who understand the value of clear, dependable communication in the field. You will be responsible for growing business through face-to-face visits, building long-term customer relationships, and providing tailored solutions for mission-critical communication needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Travel to public safety agencies and departments across Rochester and surrounding counties to present and sell two-way radio solutions. Identify and develop new sales opportunities within municipal, government, and public safety markets. Conduct on-site needs assessments and RF communication evaluations. Demonstrate and explain product features, advantages, and benefits to decision-makers. Build and maintain strong relationships with current clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. Work closely with internal technicians and support staff to prepare quotes, proposals, and system designs. Attend industry events, product training, and manufacturer seminars as needed. Maintain accurate sales records, activity reports, and forecasting in CRM tools.
Requirements:
Proven success in outside sales, business development, or account management. Background in emergency services (fire, EMS, law enforcement, or 911 dispatch) strongly preferred. Working knowledge of two-way radio systems and basic RF theory is required. Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Self-starter with a high level of energy and drive to succeed. Ability to travel daily throughout the region (valid driver’s license required). Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience selling or using Kenwood, Motorola, or ICOM radio systems. FCC Technician license or public safety communications certifications are a plus.
