Summary The LBM Outside Sales Rep will be part of a family-owned business on the move to grow into their next chapter. The LBM Outside Sales Rep will drive new business and grow existing accounts. Leverage our multiple product lines to sell lumber, windows, deck/rail, exterior doors, exterior trim, siding, millwork, flooring, and kitchens directly to builders, remodelers, GC’s, sub-contractors, and architects. You must be able to thrive in a fast past, customer driven environment. A successful Wehrung’s OSR will have a professional work ethic and will embrace new practices to keep up with the changing business.
General Responsibilities and Duties:
Minimum 2 years in the building supply & construction industry. Minimum 2 years Outside Sales experience required. Cultivate prospects for new business and support existing customers. Travel to cold call contractor offices and job sites in your territory to drive new business. Become knowledgeable in the large breadth of manufacturers & building materials that we work with. Leverage our multiple product lines to cross sell and maximize share of wallet. Yielding increased opportunities to secure customer business and increased commissions. Sell lumber, windows, deck/rail, exterior doors, exterior trim, siding, millwork, and flooring. Collaborate with our Kitchen, flooring, retail, and Precast departments to aid in maximizing sales for the company. Must be able to work on their own and in a team atmosphere, supporting other sales associates with your experience and knowledge. Effectively communicate concepts and recommended courses of action to meet and exceed sales plans through weekly snapshots and strategy meetings. Demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate complex problems and recommend the appropriate course of action. Ability to manage difficult situations and maintain professionalism. Participate in company events and attend company sponsored training programs. Represent company at trade association meetings to promote business and develop relationships. Qualify accurate customer needs and submit orders based on vendor lead times. You will prepare and qualify quotes and orders for customers through collaboration with the store support staff. Manage your open order file. Assist in collecting accounts receivable. Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Required Skills/Abilities:
Eligible to work in the U.S Able to read and take off material lists from blueprints. Excellent communication skills; capable of building trusting relationships. Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel & order entry systems. Open to cross-training
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent 3-5 years LBM sales experience
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged sitting or standing
Salary:
Commensurate with experience.
