JOB SUMMARY
This is an outside sales position responsiblefor promoting the company’s products and services and for buildingrelationships with new and existing accounts. The main focus is tohelp Sysco customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goalsestablished by the company. This position may require working somenon-traditional hours (evening, weekends, and holidays) tosuccessfully meet customers’ needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop newbusiness, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost businessto achieve profitable sales growth and special objectives withinassigned territory.
- Seek and qualify prospects following companyaccount stratification goals.
- Research customer business needsand develops a mix of products and service to meet needs.
- Evaluate market trends and recommend products to customers, basedon business needs and goals.
- Be informed of market conditions,product innovations, and competitors’ products, prices, and sales;share information with customers as part of value-added servicesprovided.
- Answer customers’ questions about products, prices,availability, and product use.
- Provide product information andpractical training to customer personnel.
- Drive personal vehicleto customer accounts, conventions, company meetings, etc.
- Communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary, workingwith the credit department and client; collect all balances duebased on approved credit terms.
- Manage deliveries to the routingschedule published by the transportation department; troubleshootany problems that occur during the order process (for example, outof stock items, special order items, low inventory, etc.).
- Participate in company functions, promotions, customer visits, andcustomer events.
- Attend and participate in general sales anddistrict meetings.
- Engage in ongoing training sessions.
- Assistwith the training of new employees as requested.
- Review andanalyze daily and weekly reports such as special-order requests,customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data.
- Performadministrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports,maintaining sales records, processing credits, and pick-uprequests, preparing sales quotes and menu suggestions, and filingreports.
- Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
RequiredEducation/Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales,Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline ORHSD/GED and 3 years Restaurant Management, B2B or outside salesexperience, or equivalent relatable experience including completionof the Sysco Sales Internship. Preferred Qualifications Bi-LingualRestaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, Chef Experiencepreferred Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Valid driver’slicense with a “clean” driving record (including no multiple DUIswithin the last 2 years) Current automobile insurance with thefollowing limits of liability: Bodily injury
- $100,000 each personand $300,000 each accident; property damage
- $100,000 is requiredRequirement
- Submit to pre-employment testing (Drug Screen,Background Check).
- Must sign Sysco Protective CovenantsAgreement.
- Reside or willing to relocate to the geographicalvicinity of territory. Professional Skills
