Summary
Outside Sales Representative, responsible for selling Health Insurance products in South Carolina. Responsible for new sales, renewal of existing members, and providing service as needed. Product Portfolio for group and individual consumers include ACA Plans and Medicare for eligible consumers. Production quotas within an assigned territory.
Description
50% Develops and executes marketing plans for new sales and/or retention of existing accounts within assigned territory. Prepares and presents proposals and communications to groups, agents, and/or individuals.
30% Develops and maintains professional relationships with groups, agents, and/or individuals. Assesses agency, agent, group, and/or individual sales opportunities and works with groups, agent, and/or individuals to resolve problem issues.
10% Conducts on-going market research and provides key information that may lead to sales. Prepares and submits required marketing reports to management detailing how best to position company products.
10% Maintains product/industry knowledge and marketing skills by attending trading seminars, continuing education classes, conferences, etc.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree, any major.
Required Work Experience:
One year sales and marketing.
Preferred Work Experience:
Three years previous outside sales experience including customer service. Active Department of Insurance Licenses in Health, Life, and Accident.

Ability to develop/maintain effective relationships with groups, agents, and potential customers. Knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, and the marketplace. Effective presentation and customer service skills. Analytical or critical thinking skills. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Effective organizational skills. Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
