TITLE:

Business Development Representative

JOB OVERVIEW

: The Business Development Representative at TenCate, Sports Division is responsible for promoting, selling, and supporting the company’s turf, track, and lighting products across the sports and leisure sectors. This role involves actively seeking new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, and providing exceptional customer service from initial consultation through to post-installation support. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, results-driven, and able to collaborate with regional teams to close sales and ensure customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Sales & Revenue Generation:

Drive sales of TenCate products to athletic facilities, educational institutions, sports arenas, and practice facilities, with a focus on design-build project opportunities.

Client Consultation & Support:

Provide pre- and post-installation consultation, ensuring product performance aligns with customer expectations. Guide clients in making informed decisions based on their needs and help them throughout the product lifecycle.

Partnership Development:

Identify and develop relationships with contractors, installers, owners and decision makers, and designers. Support partners in the promotion, supply, and installation of TenCate products.

Market Expansion:

Actively identify new business opportunities and target new clients within the sports and leisure markets. Collaborate with internal teams to expand the company’s reach and influence in the industry.

Sales Presentations & Proposals:

Deliver persuasive sales presentations and engage with architects, engineers, and consultants. Promote the benefits of TenCate products through product demonstrations, technical specifications, and on-site visits.

Customer Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers. Provide continuous support and ensure that customer expectations are met at all stages of the project.

Project Coordination & Execution:

Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate project schedules, budgets, and proposals. Ensure smooth execution of sales projects from an initial inquiry through installation and post-installation.

Industry Representation & Networking:

Attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events to build networks, gather insights, and promote TenCate products to a wider audience.

Reporting & Feedback:

Provide regular updates and reports on sales activity, pipeline development, and market feedback to management. Track and analyze sales performance, customer satisfaction, and emerging trends.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven record in sales, business development, or account management, preferably in the synthetic turf, sports, or construction industries. Effective communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities. Ability to present and sell complex solutions effectively to a variety of stakeholders. Willingness to travel as required to meet clients, attend trade shows, and support ongoing projects. Familiarity with synthetic turf systems, tracks, and lighting – including design, installation, and maintenance, is an advantage. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
