Essential Responsibilities:

The Retail Shop Receiver is responsible for handling the intake, verification, and processing of all merchandise delivered to the facility for retail sales. This role ensures inventory accuracy, prepares merchandise for store display, and supports the smooth operation of the retail environment. Verify contents of all incoming deliveries against packing slips and inspect merchandise for damage or defects. Match packing slips with purchase orders to confirm accuracy of items received. Confirm that merchandise matches order specifications—checking quantity, style, size, color, and type—and report any discrepancies to the buyer immediately. Prepare merchandise for the sales floor, including unpacking, steaming, labeling, and organizing. Ensure invoiced cost matches the quoted cost on the purchase order. Determine and apply appropriate suggested retail prices and member prices. Enter new inventory accurately into the system and generate SKU labels. Attach labels to merchandise and prepare items (boxed or hung) for distribution to retail shops. Code vendor invoices and compile necessary documentation—including the receiving edit list, purchase order, and packing slip—for Controller approval. Maintain an up-to-date log of merchandise in the receiving area awaiting delivery to shops. Process returns and follow up on pending credit memos to ensure timely resolution. Handle and charge special orders to customer accounts appropriately. Package and ship items as required, assigning shipping costs to the correct department or member. Reconcile shipping invoices and submit to the Accounting Department for processing. Ensure the Receiving Department is clean, organized, and all merchandise is neatly labeled and accessible. Provide assistance to retail shops as needed to support operations.

Education & Work Experience Requirements:

H.S. Diploma or G.E.D preferred not required.
