PAYROLL CLERK

– Corporate Office –

Woodstock, GA SUMMARY:

The Payroll Clerk is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll, generating various reports, and assisting Accounts Payable. This position will report to Payroll Coordinator and will work in-office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES

Process payroll
Complete and provide reports for the Accounting Department
Complete and provide monthly reports to each site
Complete Pension Reporting
Complete and submit 401k Data
Maintain Payroll Files
Ensure CBA, SCA, and Company Handbook Policies are being followed regarding payroll
Assist HR in entering and terminating employees in payroll system
Provide prompt responses to employee inquiries
Handle and track benefit accruals
Process garnishments and other court orders
Ensure time & attendance system is accurate
Set up new employees (wages, schedules, benefit deductions, etc.) in ADP Workforce Now
Input employee schedules
Invoice processing in PO System
Special projects as required

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High level of professionalism and exceptional customer service skills. Always exercise the utmost discretion and maintain confidential information.
Great attention to detail and organizational skills. Requires strong initiative and ability to understand many areas of expertise.
Ability to meet strict deadlines; accomplish work in order of priority; professionally maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions.
Ability to learn new duties and adjust to new situations encountered on the job within a reasonable amount of time.
Ability to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of an organization.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

TRAINING

Associate degree or equivalent related experience and/or training. Minimum of two years current experience processing payroll.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
Self-starter with strong organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now is

ESSENTIAL.

Experience with Union payroll and Service Contract Act a plus.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from managers and staff members. Ability to write reports. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, and fellow employees.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to read and interpret various information to ensure procedures are followed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee will work in an office environment. •Pay is competitive and based on experience.•A background check and drug screen will be conducted for this position.
