The Maritime Market is hiring for a Lead Stocker who will handle the critical role of maintaining stock levels, as well as the overall cleanliness and appearance of the Market. This individual will assist in training and managing other stockers and will report to the Grocery Manager. The Maritime Market pays for all ferry and parking passes , and provides one free meal per shift worked. Ride a boat to work and enjoy island life!

Essential Functions :

Unload merchandise from trucks/pallets and stock shelves in the store. Organize and maintain merchandise in the backroom areas. Perform basic janitorial functions in and around the store (ie. sweep, clean bathrooms, empty trash cans, etc.) Assist customers with any special requests and help them load purchased material in their shopping cart. Maintain a friendly and helpful attitude in an effort to provide 5 star customer service.

Additional functions:

Answer telephone and respond to customer inquiries. Fill in for other Market personnel in their absence to maintain store function. Handle ordering as directed by General Manager and/or Assistant Manager. Perform other related work as required by supervisor. Requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
