The Lead Associate is responsible for helping to oversee and assist with the ordering and receiving of all wine, beer, merchandise, and food product for the Winery and Wine Bar. The Lead Associate, under the direction of management, will ensure the implementation of policies and procedures, as well as inventory and cost controls. The Lead Associate will also provide general support to Winery Retail, Winery Leadership, Visual and Merchandising Teams, Guest Services, and other departments as needed. Maintaining shop inventory levels, completion of daily side work duties, and focusing on the sales and growth of the Winery. They will provide OJT (on-the-job training) for all new hires in the Stockroom, support the front line by answering questions, and provide guidance with all Counterpoint functions. The Winery Stockroom Lead Associate will communicate with supervisors and the location manager on employee issues and provide general support and assistance to the department, leadership, and the company.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
1. Assist in the completion of all daily tasks assigned to the Stockroom front-line staff. 2. Assist in the training of all new stockroom employees during the probationary period, and will conduct ongoing training as needed upon a new employee’s completion of the probationary period. 3. Assist the Stockroom Supervisor in ensuring the ordering and receiving of all products for the Winery and Wine Bar are done efficiently and accurately, and that all cost controls, inventory controls, policies, and procedures are being implemented. 5. Communicate all concerns issued by the front-line staff to the Stockroom Supervisor. 6. Monitor the appearance and stock levels of the Retail floor throughout their shift and allocate the appropriate time and/or staff to maintain the appearance and stock levels required to be in line with Biltmore standards. 7. Assist the Stockroom Supervisor in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of bin locations. 8. In the absence of the Stockroom Supervisor, act as the liaison between the Winery Stockroom and Winery Retail, Production, Inventory Control, Fulfillment, and all other departments in matters pertaining to Stockroom operations.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Learn how to prepare a schedule, complete EOM reports, enter damages, and fulfill all other duties of the Stockroom Supervisor should the need arise. 2. Responsible for being aware of not just the operation of the Stockroom, but the operation of the Retail floor as a whole during each shift. If a Retail need is apparent, the Lead Associate will assist and/or allocate Stockroom staff to assist as the needs and experiences of the guests override any internal Stockroom obligations. 4. Assist the Stockroom Supervisor in maintaining the cleanliness of the Winery Stockroom, Lift Room, and all other areas of operations. 5. Provide general support and assistance for special projects, functions, and other departments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma (or GED). Additional training and/or education helpful. Has or is able to obtain forklift certification. 2. At least six months of previous retail, inventory, and/or customer service experience required. The ideal candidate will have had one year of prior retail inventory or guest service experience in an upscale retail operations setting. 3. Strong math skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office basics, and the ability to learn and operate computerized inventory management software. 4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; must be able to convey information clearly and concisely, and respond to guest service recovery situations as needed. 5. The ability to exercise good judgment and take the initiative where appropriate; should be comfortable with being proactive and troubleshooting where necessary. 6. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced guest service environment 7. Outstanding attention to detail. 8. Solid time management and organizational skills. 9. Demonstrated commitment to quality and providing great service to both internal and external guests.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently. 2. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours/day); comfortable reaching overhead/down below, kneeling, crouching, stooping/bending. 3. Must be able to climb stairs/ladders. 4. Able to work indoors/outdoors with fluctuations in temperature and conditions; may be exposed to dirt, dust, and other particulates.
