Donut Lead Job Summary:

The Donut Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the donut area, ensuring efficient production, staff supervision, and a customer-focused environment. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to troubleshoot problems in real time. The Donut Lead is expected to train new staff, maintain quality and safety standards, and collaborate with other departments, such as Wholesale and Tours, for large orders. This position plays a key role in ensuring a profitable and well-managed donut department that aligns with the overall goals of Weaver’s Orchard. Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example and delegate effectively
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Confidence in decision-making (independent and collaborative)

Preferred Experience:

• Creativity to display design and visual merchandising
• Customer education and product presentation skills Primary responsibilities:
• Lead and train donut staff, ensuring high standards of service and quality
• Delegate tasks effectively and maintain clear communication within the team
• Manage inventory, place product and supply orders, and ensure adequate stock levels
• Maintain donut production schedules and oversee batter/fryer troubleshooting when issues arise
• Organize prep areas, storage, and displays for operational efficiency and aesthetic appeal
• Ensure accurate labeling and pricing of all products
• Collaborate with Market Manager, Wholesale, and Tours teams for special orders and large-volume needs
• Respond professionally to customer and staff inquiries or complaints
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Uphold and enforce food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Create or refresh donut displays to enhance product visibility and appeal
• Monitor equipment function and request maintenance as needed
• Help evaluate department profitability and contribute to cost-saving or sales-boosting ideas

Hours:

full time (30-40 hours per week), flexible with seasonal fluctuations

• Schedule requirements: o

September-October:

must work both Fridays and Saturdays o Other times of year: must work either Fridays or Saturdays o Must be scheduled across multiple parts of the week

• Weekend and holiday availability is required
• Expected to work at least 2 out of 4 Saturdays during summer and fall
• Winter hours may be reduced based on business needs
• Must be reliable and punctual with schedule consistency
