Managing a large network of small farmers requires the ultimate hustle, and we anticipate our Produce Team Members to lead the effort of maximizing the success of our farmers by promoting and managing their products in the most effective way possible.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Responsible for displaying, storing, rotating and culling the Produce Department in alignment with store and management goals and direction Follows best practices to promote Produce sales and freshness, work efficiently, limit waste/shrink and educate customers on product Ensures displays are fully stocked, rotated, plentiful, seasonally relevant, and optimally fresh during all business hours Ensures all Produce has accurate and legible signage with correct Country of Origin and growing information Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of all Produce backstock areas; maintains constant pulse on inventory and reacts accordingly Communicates Produce information to staff and customers to increase sales and provide excellent service Works with Grocery Managers to understand department sales and COGS, strategies for tracking and reducing waste, tracking transfers, reporting issues, and increasing sales Monitors standards of product received and transferred and communicates issues to Produce Assistant Manager or Grocery Manager Assembles Produce Boxes according to par requirements and seasonal relevancy and ensures boxes are constantly available for sale Responsible for preventing internal and external Produce loss Communicates price changes, new produce items and discontinued items to Square Administrator for updating Performs scheduled deep cleaning of all Produce cases and displays Regularly communicates underperforming Produce to Managers Attends to customer orders, questions, concerns, and requests and goes the extra mile to make every guest’s experience a great one Effectively opens the Produce Department to begin the day with a striking, fresh, full and clean department Effectively closes the Produce Department by ensuring only the best product remains in backstock and the department is clean and prepared for the next day

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must be 18 years of age or older Experience handling produce, grocery, or perishable items required Merchandising and customer service experience required Evening and weekend availability required Must be able to periodically work in environments with temperatures below 32 degrees F High school diploma or equivalent related job experience Must communicate by Paylocity, Slack, Is an active part of the Swamp Team so adheres to high standards of service, quality, and presentation Takes initiative to help any area of the business if possible Performs other duties as assigned and requested.
