Role and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Lead Stocker to join our team! In this role, you will lead and support the team to ensure the section is well-organized, products are stored properly, and safety standards are upheld, all while providing exceptional service to our customers. Lead and support a team to ensure that items are properly stocked, organized, and maintained. Oversee the accurate placement of products, ensuring they are stored according to safety standards and temperature requirements. Monitor inventory levels, perform stock rotation (FIFO), and report any discrepancies or shortages to management. Ensure the team adheres to food safety guidelines and sanitation procedures, maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Train and mentor team members on stocking procedures, inventory management, and safety practices. Assist with unloading shipments, checking for product damage, and ensuring that deliveries are stored in the correct temperature zones. Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with stock replenishment to avoid out-of-stock situations. Communicate any issues or concerns related to inventory, equipment, or safety protocols to supervisors promptly. Ensure that safety equipment and personal protective gear (PPE) are used as required by safety standards.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working as a Stocker in a grocery store or similar setting. Familiarity with stock rotation practices (FIFO – First In, First Out). Knowledge of food safety standards, particularly for frozen and chilled items. Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors. Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Preferred Skills:

Experience working in a commissary. Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with the ability to mentor and guide a team. Strong attention to detail in product handling, storage, and stock rotation. Ability to use basic warehouse equipment like pallet jacks and forklifts (certification a plus).

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting while stocking frozen and chilled products. Ability to work on your feet for long periods. Ability to handle physically demanding tasks in a cold environment (temperature-controlled areas). Reasonable accommodations can be provided.

Environmental Demands:

Work in a cold environment, including freezers and refrigerators. Exposure to cold temperatures. Work in a fast-paced setting with frequent movement and time-sensitive tasks.
