Team Lead in Portland, TN 37148 Job Description As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for performing all duties of a Warehouse Associate II and Material Handler I. You will assist Warehouse Associates by prioritizing work, assigning them to areas as needed, and ensuring warehouse demands are met. Your role also includes assisting with interviewing, hiring, training, and disciplining employees. You will use KPIs and other tools to drive continuous improvement, increase quality, efficiency, productivity, and resource utilization. Addressing employee complaints, resolving problems, and collaborating with Customer Service on issues and special projects are also part of your duties. Responsibilities Perform all duties of a Warehouse Associate II and Material Handler I. Assist Warehouse Associates in prioritizing work and assigning them to areas as needed. Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, and disciplining employees. Use KPIs to drive continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, productivity, and resource utilization. Address employee complaints and resolve problems. Collaborate with Customer Service on issues and special projects. Manage personnel issues including time off requests and timecard approvals. Understand work functions in the area of expertise to serve as a backup to the department. Work with Human Resources for staffing needs. Perform weekly forklift inspections. Ensure accurate inventory counts. Ensure all equipment and tools in the area are in proper working order. Run productivity reports. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area. Essential Skills Experience in receiving, production, supervision, safety, continuous improvement, and inventory management. Proficiency in picking, packing, storage, and shipping of products. Strong supervisory and customer service skills. Understanding of production management and lean manufacturing. Experience in packaging and production supervision. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Experience with RF handhelds. Ability to operate forklifts and cherry pickers. Years of warehouse operations experience preferred.
