Full Job Description Position Summary:
Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital At Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital the BioMed/Electronic Tech II ensures diagnostic/therapeutic equipment meets manufacturer’s specifications for safe and proper use by the performance of routine safety inspections, PM/calibrations, and technical repairs.
Responsibilities:
Performs pre-procurement evaluations. Utilizes available service literature and other pertinent resources for completing repairs, PM’s, software/hardware upgrades/enhancements and other support needs as required by regulatory agencies, device manufacturer’s. Monitors rental and other non-hospital owned devices for compliance with corporate safety policies. Performs pre-procurement evaluations and support assessments on new devices and systems. Analyzes, resolves and documents problems associated with medical devices/systems hardware and software. Completes all documentation in order to comply with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies and to fulfill departmental requirements. Communicates information regarding repair status of assigned equipment to appropriate medical personnel in the using department and escalates delay issues to Supervisor as needed. Receives training on the repair and maintenance of medical equipment / systems and accessories including hardware mainframes, databases, networks and other types of computerized systems and associated medical device software. Assists with the coordination of integrating medical devices and systems to other hospital computer systems/networks. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other Related Functions Performs incoming inspections on new equipment as assigned. Practices efficient use of supplies and reports inventory deficiencies to supervisor. Provides cross training on clinical equipment and test instrumentation to other technicians. Able to work both as part of a team and independently when required. Supports Orlando Health through emergency on-call service.
Qualifications:
Associate of Science Degree. Two (2) years of directly related work experience and/or training in repair/support of medical equipment/computerized systems may substitute for the Associate degree to include pertinent technical training or trade schools (to include military and/or manufacturer training). Four (4) years of directly related work experience in repair/support of medical equipment/computerized systems. Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment or Electronic/Computer repair or pertinent technical training or trade schools may substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience
