Sales Engineer Position Summary Symplast is in search of a high energy and dynamic Sales Engineer. With a heavy focus on demonstrating Symplast software to prospective clients, the successful candidate takes a lead role on the technical side of the sale with the ability to highlight why our software solutions meet the needs of prospects (not “teach” prospects how to use it). You are a highly result driven person who will help to convert opportunities (provided by the Sales Development Team as well as through your own prospecting) through your skills in presenting/demonstrating various benefits of using the software. Essentially you need to knock their socks off as you show how much better their business can be through the use of Symplast! Your mission as a Sales Engineer is to develop and strengthen relationships with customers and internal partners by listening, creating value and by continuously creating and following up on leads and opportunities that support business growth for our customers and our own business. Your success in this role is determined by your ability to be customer oriented, while finding the most suitable value proposition for the customer. This position will require you to be highly organized, able to prioritize and communicate professionally/effectively. Learning the benefits behind the features of our software solutions, the right candidate will be one who works well under pressure, easily initiates relaxed but informative two-way conversations with prospects and is highly self-motivated. The right candidate will also understand how to assess a company’s needs and cater the on-going outreach to each prospect specifically to become the trusted adviser as, at Symplast, we adopt a consultative sales approach, not a transactional one. Essential Duties Passionately demonstrate comprehensive product and industry knowledge to articulate benefits of the software that meet the needs of the prospect and add value to their business to create desire for action. Keep up with industry technology and trends. Maintain a healthy pipeline of potential clients, actively reaching out to find and create additional opportunities and by adhering closely to established sales processes – including meticulously recording client information and maintaining the CRM Utilize both company-provided leads while also proactively prospecting your own self-generated leads to maintain pipeline Establish rapport with your potential customers as a Trusted Advisor Conduct needs analysis of potential customers to uncover their needs when seeking new opportunities. Persuading prospective clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs Combine industry and software knowledge with sales skills to interpret and manage client expectations Providing pre-sales assistance and product education Collaborate with within the sales team to encourage camaraderie and goal attainment Maintain a positive, friendly, and resilient attitude while demonstrating excellent business acumen Address and overcome objections in a firm, yet pleasant manner Relentlessly drive to achieve and exceed personal and company goals Occasional speaking at conferences/ events in a confident/ educational manner Regularly reviews own output to actively improve results based on what is within your control Perform other duties as assigned Preferred Skills Commitment to honesty and integrity. Sales Engineers must be comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment while paying attention to detail and independently drive your daily sales activities. Tactful at negotiation and expectation management. As Symplast utilizes the consultative sales approach, the Sales Engineer must be able to say no and disagree with potential clients where appropriate to best advise them. Active listening. Sales Engineers that are naturally inquisitive and ask relevant questions to better understand will do well in this role! Ability to balance professionalism with approachability. Qualification Requirements Previous sales experience and/or training is required High school education or equivalent Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required Proficiency with technology including iPads and smartphones, as well as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools Experience in presenting is an advantage- particularly regarding software Ability to speak publicly with confidence and poise Powerful sense of ambition, self-motivation, and self-discipline Naturally inquisitive Travel Requirement The Sales Engineer is a remote position located in our Florida market but will require travel to company training as well as industry events. There are up to 2 industry events per month.
