Technology Support Specialist

Full-Time Overview:
The Technology Support Specialist provides front-line technical support to staff and manages requests via a helpdesk ticketing system. This role involves provisioning user access, maintaining computers and devices, supporting technology initiatives, and assisting the Director with the implementation and upkeep of systems. The ideal candidate excels in communication, customer service, troubleshooting, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Provision, deprovision, and modify user access to systems per established protocols. Install, deploy, and configure computers and mobile devices per established protocols. Monitor system performance, supply levels, and functional trends as directed. Respond to and manage support requests via a helpdesk ticketing system. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in-person or remotely, according to the approved best practices and solutions; escalating when necessary. Perform basic repairs or upgrades on computers and devices. Coordinate service calls with vendors for repairs or maintenance. Maintain accurate documentation of support activities, procedures, and outcomes. Gather and respond to staff feedback regarding technology use and training needs. Create user-friendly documentation and technical resources. Develop and deliver user training, both one-on-one and in group settings. Support audits, inventory tracking, and equipment deployment/collection. Coordinate and cooperate with team members to ensure effective project execution. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director.
Qualifications:
Completion of relevant formal education/training required; industry certifications preferred. Experience administering and troubleshooting an enterprise Windows-based environment, including LAN/Wi-Fi connectivity, network shares, and printing. Demonstrated experience in an instructional role; technology training experience preferred. Experience using Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design or productivity tools preferred. Intermediate understanding of IT concepts, including hardware components, peripherals, IP addressing, and both wired and wireless networking. Proficient with Windows Command Prompt and/or PowerShell for system diagnostics. Familiarity with Microsoft products and services, especially Microsoft 365.
Required Skills:
Friendly, customer-focused demeanor with a positive attitude. Strong verbal and written communication skills; fluent in spoken English. Detail-oriented with solid problem-solving and troubleshooting ability. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of IT security best practices and handling of sensitive data. Able to meet the physical demands of the role as described: Frequent movement across buildings and up/down stairs. Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs. Occasional overhead lifting (up to 20 lbs). Push carts with loads up to 150 lbs. Climb ladders up to 8 feet.
