As a Technical Informaticist Consultant, you will design and develop clinical decision support (CDS) knowledge algorithms using HL7 standards and technologies such as CQL, CPG-on-FHIR, FSH, and DQM. Your work will directly impact clinical workflows by enabling smarter, evidence-based decision-making at the point of care and identifying patients for proactive outreach. You will collaborate with clinicians and stakeholders to ensure the CDS solutions meet real-world needs, and you’ll contribute to the evolution of internal tools and processes. Within two months of onboarding, you are expected to independently develop, test, and deploy CPG-on-FHIR and population-level CDS content. Responsibilities Design, author, and deploy CDS knowledge artifacts including: Clinical recommenders Digital quality measures (e.g., HEDIS) Patient stratification logic Clinical questionnaires Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinicians and product stakeholders to ensure solutions align with user needs. Provide input on improving internal tools and development processes to enhance efficiency and maintain quality standards. Deliver training sessions to internal and external teams on CDS artifact development and best practices. Minimum Qualifications 3+ years of experience in commercial software development, including use of tools like GitHub and Agile methodologies. 2+ years of experience developing CDS algorithms using HL7 FHIR and Clinical Quality Language (CQL). Proficiency in at least one structured programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Java, Python). Strong understanding of JSON data structures. Experience with standard medical terminologies such as

ICD-10-CM, SNOMED

CT, LOINC, and RxNorm. Background in health informatics, either through a graduate degree or equivalent industry experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience integrating CDS into commercial EHR systems (e.g., Epic). Familiarity with FHIR Shorthand (FSH). Exposure to generative AI, machine learning, or natural language processing in healthcare contexts.
