This person will collaborate with Trinity’s Makerspace and Media center faculty to integrate innovative technology lessons, makery, and research skills with content creation to create engaging classes and presentations by diversifying learning resources. The Instructional Technology Lead will support media instruction in the Learning Commons as needed, in addition to teaching in the Idea Lab focusing on an innovative technology curriculum. The curriculum focuses specifically on the ability to understand and evaluate information and elementary concepts in digital literacy, internet safety, and multimedia content creation. Educational Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or a specific subject area Georgia State Teaching Certificate/License or equivalent from another state (preferred) Functional understanding of Chrome OS and Macintosh iOS operating systems with respect to digital media and interactive technology applications and services. Demonstrated technical skills and troubleshooting ability; Help Desk Support experience would be beneficial. Excellent communication skills and the ability to reassure users while keeping one’s composure under pressure. Excellent technology skills and the ability to respond quickly and efficiently are skills vital to the job. Ability to engage students in reading, viewing, and listening for understanding and enjoyment Highly organized and capable of setting priorities to address the media technology needs of the school, students, and staff Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals, adults and children, and with people who may not be proficient in the use of technology. Essential Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities Builds and maintains expertise in a wide range of print, digital, media, and technology resources Models the effective and enthusiastic use of technology through the pedagogical development of multimedia resources Reinforces best practices in digital literacy. Works collaboratively and individually to design, develop, and implement programs that emphasize the importance of research and the organization of information Builds and maintains expertise in assessing various technology products and processes Guides and assists students and staff in the use of new media and technologies Researches and makes recommendations on new technologies that advance student learning and professional development Models and promotes effective uses of technology for learning and teaching Collaborates with Media Specialists to continually improve information and digital literacy throughout the community Works with the Director of Education Technology to develop curriculum that aligns with Trinity’s curricular and strategic vision initiatives Compiles and maintains departmental records and statistics, such as equipment use, supply use, inventory, and service records Works with the Director of Education Technology to develop and conduct parent and faculty technology seminars and staff and faculty professional development classes Assists faculty and staff, through one-on-one and small group consultation with identifying best practices in the use and integration of technology to best advance their workflow and educational initiatives Seeks out and informs faculty and staff of appropriate professional development opportunities Reinforces cross-curricular technology integration through the development and facilitation of faculty professional development courses Maintains strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with specific strengths in communicating a range of project, functional and technical information to internal partners and external partners and end-users Maintains a strong work ethic, project management skills and detail-oriented work style, with the ability to self-manage and work proactively and effectively to meet established deadlines and project goals Displays the ability to be an effective team member and individual contributor in a fast-paced, multi-project and multi-unit environment Participates in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities and maintaining expertise in the field Maintains excellent customer service skill and demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with end-users and technology team members Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Work Hours Generally, Faculty will work Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 7:40 AM-3:15 PM, Wednesdays 7:40 AM – 4:30 PM, and Fridays 7:40 AM – 2:15 PM. Teachers need to remain with the class until the last student leaves. Generally, new Faculty will work the hours above except Tuesday afternoon when new employees have New Faculty Academy for an additional 30 minutes. Faculty and Staff rotate weekly morning carpool which starts at 7:30 AM and afternoon carpool which lasts a minimum of 30 minutes. When necessary, the employee must be flexible in the ability to work more than her/his regular daily or weekly schedule to complete duties and/or be available for parent conversations and consultations.
