JOB SUMMARY

Technical Sales Specialists create sales opportunities with assigned accounts and new sales leads to offer solutions. Utilizing their sales skills, product application knowledge, and industrial process knowledge, they convince their customers to specify and purchase products and solutions from Cross Hose & Fittings. This associate will provide service at the customer’s site including specifying products, seeking additional business and striving toward total customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Technical Sales Specialists work as a part of a team with the Territory Manager, Sales Manager, VMI Specialists (Breadmen), Store Managers, and Customer Sales Specialists to anticipate, identify, and profitably satisfy each customer’s needs. The essential function of this associate is to achieve their annual sales and gross profit goal, develop profitable new business, and maintain existing business at assigned accounts.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Understand the needs of our customers in the assigned base and be able to match the right mix of products and services to satisfy their profitability. Create opportunities to meet with customers and prospects and win their business. Travel to customer locations to survey equipment, make recommendations, and maintain relationships. Issue quotes using NetSuite Process orders using NetSuite Expedite open orders and provide delivery information for customers Respond to inquiries from customers, team members, and management in a timely manner Manage rebates and price discount records for assigned accounts Enthusiastically support Cross Company Cultural Cornerstones

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma required Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in business or a related field would be a plus 3-5 years experience in the hose & fitting industry An unwavering persistence, commitment, passion and enthusiasm for this work

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to learn & master new technical material quickly Consistently able to handle stressful situations positively Ability to drive a car long distances and ready to travel, as needed, to any Cross facility, customer location, vendor facility, or meeting destination Able to sit for extended periods while working at a desk Ability to successfully navigate an industrial environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to speak publicly
