Territory:

We are looking for a Technical Service Specialist to join our Chemetall Team; this individual will cover North Carolina and South Carolina. Come create chemistry with us!
As a Technical Service Specialist (TSS) you will have responsibility that leads and coordinates all technical, purchasing, inventory, reporting activities, manage assigned projects, and respond to customer needs and complaints for our customer accounts within the Carolinas. This position offers an incentive bonus plan, company car, laptop, phone, and all travel expenses covered by the company; travel for this role is 50% daily travel within your territory with occasional overnight travel.

Being the first line of technical support with customers. Providing in-depth technical service to key customers.
Fostering a Safety mindset acting as a safety ambassador for your customers.
Completing all required BASF compliance training and pass all required technical training utilizing the BASF / Chemetall CL3 platform.
Training of plant personnel, line audits, startup new processes, troubleshooting problems.
Coordinating test work and participating in plant functions, such as system cleanup, team audit meetings, process analysis, and inventory management.
Planning visits with the purpose of bringing value to the customer. The goal is to develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders (regular touchpoints with quality, engineering, line supervisors, operations etc.)
Communicating with a written service report utilizing driven comments of action items and findings. Uploading the information in Salesforce and notifying all key stakeholders.
Participating in business reviews to continually reinforce our value proposition keeping our customers out of the zone of indifference.
Setting each account with the proper process instructions for the chemical process supplied by BASF / Chemetall.
Educating our customers on proper handling of chemicals, reagents, and sample submission procedures.
Assisting & facilitating the installation, troubleshooting and training of proper use of process equipment.

If you…
Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Engineering is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of technical experience with pretreatment, coatings, surface treatment, metalworking and adjacent industry applications preferred.
Willingness to learn new skills and techniques associated with different product applications and chemical programs.
Understanding of Manufacturing Plant operations and the importance of safety. Technical expertise regarding products, specifications, processes, operations, testing, and data collection.
Technical Support:
strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills; along with analytical experience for testing and technical evaluation.
Experience with inventory management/control and product ordering. Comfortable using a computer; familiar with Salesforce and Microsoft 365.
Collaborate and take direction/feedback from senior colleagues to improve and grow professionally.
Physical Requirements:
ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and ability to lift 50lbs.
Travel Requirement:
50% travel within your territory with occasional overnight travel within your territory.
