Telephone Collections Agent Southern Credit Adjusters 2420 Professional Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Collection Agent to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable and ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of financial concepts, and excellent customer service abilities. This position requires effective communication over the phone and the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism. Responsibilities Contact customers via phone to collect payments on overdue accounts. Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements while maintaining a positive relationship with clients. Utilize financial concepts and math skills to assess account balances and payment options. Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions in the system. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to billing. Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for improving collection processes. Stay informed about industry regulations, including knowledge of medical billing practices and coding (ICD-10) as applicable. Requirements Proven experience in collections, telemarketing, or customer service roles. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes positively. Familiarity with financial concepts and basic math skills for account management. Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills. Knowledge of medical billing processes and coding (ICD-10) is a plus but not required. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts effectively.
