Job Description

Associate Scientist Insight Global Groton, CT 06340 Insight Global client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Scientist to join the Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, and Metabolism (PDM) Enzymology Group in Groton, CT for a leading pharmaceutical company. This laboratory-based role focuses on supporting the small molecule portfolio by conducting in vitro assays to investigate drug metabolism, enzyme kinetics, and drug-drug interactions. The successful candidate will contribute to critical research efforts aimed at advancing drug development through precise sample generation, bioanalysis, and data interpretation, while maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities Generate samples from in vitro studies using biological matrices, either through manual pipetting or automated liquid handling systems, to evaluate drug metabolism, enzyme kinetics, and drug-drug interactions. Perform bioanalysis of in vitro samples using Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), collaborating with the Bioanalytical team as needed for specific studies. Process and interpret data, generate reports, and review reports for quality, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project objectives. Maintain up-to-date electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs) and records in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards. Conduct routine lab activities, including stocking consumables, preparing buffers, and general housekeeping tasks to support a safe and efficient workspace. Perform occasional assay troubleshooting under colleague oversight to ensure reliable and reproducible results. Adhere to all safety training requirements and laboratory practices to maintain a secure working environment.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant laboratory experience, OR Master’s degree (MS) in a related field with at least 1 year of relevant laboratory experience, OR PhD in a related field (no additional experience required). Hands-on experience with in vitro assays and biological matrices. Proficiency in sample analysis using LC-MS/MS or similar analytical techniques. Familiarity with data processing, interpretation, and report generation. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory environment. Effective communication skills for presenting data and interacting with team members. Preferred Qualifications Experience with automated liquid handling systems. Knowledge of drug metabolism, enzyme kinetics, or pharmacokinetics in a pharmaceutical setting. Familiarity with electronic laboratory notebook systems and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

Structure:

12 month contract plus yearly extensions Medical, dental and vision benefits provided
