To learn more about Georgia Southern’s Vision, Mission and Values please click here: https://president.georgiasouthern.edu/performance-excellence/mission-values/ Location Armstrong Campus•Savannah, GA Department Information Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Physics Job Summary The Student Assistant will support the Department of Biochemistry Chemistry, and Physics as a Research Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Summer 2025. This student assistant position will support the research of the dela Cerna group and will participate in research funded by the National Institutes of Health. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Employment is contingent upon funding. Responsibilities
Works on a drug discovery project involving validation of small molecule hits against oncogenic phosphatases
Involved in recombinant expression and purification of proteins, preparation of purified protein samples, and inhibition assays of enzymes
Maintains an organized laboratory Shift Specifics Up to 10 hours per week
Flexible with schedule of availability
Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
Proposed Salary $12.00 per hour This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis. Required Documents to Attach
