Tissue Sample Preparation Assistant Scientist 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars Cambridge, MA 02142 Spectrix Analytical Services, LLC is seeking a highly motivated college graduate with laboratory experience beyond the classroom environment to join our client’s drug candidate optimization group at their biopharma research facility in Cambridge, MA. The candidate will fill a full-time position performing laboratory based routine in vivo tissue sample preparation using automated tissue homogenizers and manually dispensing aliquots into assay ready well-plates using pipettors as part of the client’s drug discovery process. Sample preparation will be initiated daily and/or on the specific dates the client’s samples are submitted unless otherwise directed. Duties will also include the on-site sample preparation and generation of analytical data and consisting of the following analyses:
- Tissue homogenization preparation following established protocols
- Routine Laboratory Notebook record keeping
- All routine data logging, calculations, and result reporting
- Mobile Phase and Solubility/Stability Buffer Preparation The successful employee could also grow into a sample analysis and data processing role.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Selected candidates will be required to:
- Possess a minimum of a B.S. degree in biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or molecular biology. This is NOT a doctorate level position.
- Have a college level understanding of tissue biology and biochemistry.
- Demonstrate professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, interacting with a variety of departments.
- Understand and have experience with biology laboratory safety protocols.
- Have laboratory experience outside of that associated with class work (job experience, internship, co-op, independent project).
- Have experience with handheld pipettors In addition, the ideal candidate will also have:
- The demonstrated ability to be detail oriented.
- Experience providing exceptional customer service
- Experience with tissue homogenization technology for sample preparation.
- Professional computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
