$42-$46.75/HR Responsibilities This position is an exciting opportunity within the Biochemistry and Biophysics Group in the Department of Pharmacology at MRL-Boston.
The successful candidate will:
Develop and execute quantitative biochemical and biophysical assays to support the identification, characterization, and optimization of small-molecule ligands from high-throughput screening and medicinal chemistry efforts Perform biochemical and biophysical studies to elucidate ligand binding modes and mechanisms of action on target proteins
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field with 1-5 years of industry experience; or a Master’s degree (MS) in biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field with at least 1 year of relevant industry experience. Experience in assay development and compound profiling within a drug discovery environment is preferred.
Required Skills:
Solid understanding of biochemistry, biophysics, and molecular biology Hands-on experience with basic biochemical and/or biophysical techniques Highly motivated, proactive, and eager to learn new scientific methods Strong team player with excellent oral and written communication skills Proficient with PC computers, Windows-based systems, and standard applications such as spreadsheets and databases Experience operating automated liquid handlers (e.g., Echo, Bravo, Biomek, Hamilton) and using data analysis and presentation tools (e.g., TIBCO Spotfire, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Attributes:
Proven ability to independently design, develop, and implement biochemical and biophysical screening assays using detection methods such as TR-FRET, FP, LC-MS, radiochemical assays, surface plasmon resonance (BIAcore), fluorescence-based thermal shift (TdF), and/or isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) Hands-on experience conducting steady-state and transient-state kinetic experiments to study enzymes and inhibitors Direct experience with recombinant protein expression in bacterial, insect (baculovirus), and/or mammalian systems, including purification using automated chromatographic systems www.onboardusa.com Apply Today!
