JOB SUMMARY

Contributes to cutting-edge research and optimizing spatial biology workflows by conducting precise dissections using cryostat and microtome. Prepares and processes specimens for imaging, operating and maintaining microscopes. Performs high-resolution imaging and sample analysis, and optimizing imaging protocols while troubleshooting technical issues. Other duties as assigned.

    Conduct precise dissections using cryostat and microtome for thin-sectioning of biological tissues, preparing specimens for further analysis and imaging. Prepare and process biological specimens for Stereo-seq imaging, following established protocols and optimizing procedures to enhance data quality. 25%

    Prepare and process specimens for microscopy and imaging, optimize imaging protocols, and troubleshoot technical issues to enhance the efficiency and quality of laboratory workflows. Contribute to cutting-edge research and optimize laboratory imaging workflows, particularly within the realm of spatial biology technology. 25%

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related medical or scientific discipline/ or an associates degree or equivalent training in a related medical, scientific or technical discipline.

Work Experience 1+ years journey level work experience in a related field.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s Degree
  • biology (cell biology preferred) or related disciplines Experience
  • one year experience in microscopy (light, fluorescence, or confocal), cryostat and microtome use, and tissue sectioning.

Proficiency in biological specimen dissection and strong technical skills in sample preparation are essential. Advanced imaging experience preferred.

Anticipated Salary Range $39,000

  • $47,000 Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson’s compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Normal Operations Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
