Mass Spectrometryskills for characterization of complex systems is the heart of thisjob. The mass spectrometry function for this position is focused onEuropean REACH regulations, but the REACH experience is notnecessary, but the mass spec part is. Industrial Chemistryexperience is a plus. Pharma experience is all right. The personneeds to be a Mass Spectrometrist whose focus had been an expert inMass Spec. Lots of folks have touched a mass spec to confirm thatthey made the right synthesis, but they are not a MassSpectrometrist (
Analogy:
Lots of people use computers, but they arenot IT experts). Mass Spectrometry – operation, execute generalanalysis as directed by Mass Spec head.
REACH:
European Regulatorycompliance essential to do business in EU via Mass Specexperiments, interpretations.
Interprets data, draws conclusions,communicates to internal customers verbally and in writing (formalscientific report).Administrative function including participationin Safety programs, performance culture, myHR, etc. Competency with
GCMS, GCMSMS, LCMSMS
essential. This is an active lab position. Thejob cannot be executed from a home office, except for limitedduties as defined by the supervisor.
This position provides clearopportunity for analytical scientific creativity for developingseparations, determining ionization and analysis parameters,interpretation of results, and aligning with other scientists fordata/report compilation. The analysis of complex mixturesinherently provides complexity to the task
Skills/Experience:
Required Education & Experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent, 5 years’experience or
BS/MS 10
years’ experience.
Required Years ofProfessional Experience:
> 10 years Strong written and oralcommunication skills including live presentation. Advancedexpertise in various types of Mass Spectrometry. Basic expertise inLubricant chemistry is a plus.
