Job Summary This is a two year limited term appointment funded by extramural funds. Continuation of employment is contingent upon receiving additional funds. The Simonis Lab at Auburn University is hiring a Wildlife Technician to assist in projects associated with bat health. Primary responsibilities will include conducting and leading various bat surveys (point counts, capture, biological sampling) along highway culverts and various field sites throughout Alabama. Other duties will include data entry and organization, field equipment maintenance, field supply inventory, supply ordering, and possibly some laboratory work during down time from the field. Candidates must be prepared and able to work under challenging environmental conditions, which include exposure to elements such as heat, humidity, and the presence of wildlife and insects. Additionally, candidates must be prepared to perform day or night work, depending on the project and field site. Travel and lodging will be covered.
