Microbiologist Technician 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars Palm Springs, FL 33406 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Microbiologist for a manufacturer of cosmetics and dietary supplements, seeking an experienced Microbiology Expert to reshape, implement, and validate our microbiology laboratory to support USP and testing, and to develop and operationalize microbial testing protocols for gummy dietary supplements in compliance with USP and . This role is project-based and ideal for a microbiologist with a proven track record in laboratory startup, method validation, regulatory compliance, and microbiological testing in the dietary supplement, cosmetic, or pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Redesign and establish a fully compliant microbiology laboratory suitable for USP and testing. Implement environmental monitoring programs, aseptic workflows, and microbiological testing protocols in alignment with ISO 17025 and
FDA 21 CFR
Part 210/211. Develop and validate microbiological testing methods specific to gummy dietary supplements per USP and . Draft and implement SOPs, validation protocols, method verification, training plans, and risk assessments for microbial testing. Select and qualify laboratory equipment, materials, and culture media needed for compendial testing. Train internal lab personnel on procedures, aseptic technique, and regulatory documentation requirements. Lead laboratory readiness for internal audits and support compliance with FDA, ISO, and customer requirements. Provide project updates, risk mitigation strategies, and final reports summarizing lab implementation and validation activities.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related field (PhD preferred but not required). Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in microbiological testing within FDA-regulated industries. Deep knowledge and practical experience with USP , , , and , preferably in dietary supplements or OTC/cosmetics. Proven success in laboratory setup, method validation, and regulatory compliance. Familiarity with
ISO 17025
requirements, aseptic technique, and microbiological instrumentation. Experience preparing for regulatory inspections (FDA, ISO) is highly desirable. Available to work on-site for the duration of the project (hybrid arrangements considered for part of the scope).
