Preferred Qualifications Job Description Summary The University of South Alabama’s department of Physiology and Cell Biology is seeking to hire a Research Technologist I. Interested candidates should apply to be considered. Essential Functions These are the job duties required of the position. Essential Functions Performs a variety of research and laboratory procedures using independent judgment. Assists the Principal Investigator in designing and performing experiments. Works with small animals to include performing and assisting with surgery. Performs animal surgery, genotyping and sample analysis, cell isolation and culture, bacteria culture, western blotting, RNA / DNA isolation, PCR and immunostaining. Maintains laboratory in an orderly manner. Follows appropriate safety procedures. Regular and prompt attendance. Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required. Related duties as required.
