Job Description:

We are seeking an English- and Spanish-speaker (preferred, not necessary) neurotechnician to administer neurofeedback treatments and QEEG assessments for a busy neurology clinic, focusing on TBI/concussions. A friendly and supportive work environment. No prior experience necessary. Complete training is offered to the right candidate. The ideal candidate is passionate about working in a medical environment, fostering therapeutic communication with the patients, and encouraging patients during their neurofeedback training to support in their healing process with other medical staff. Saturdays and after hours required per patient request.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in science (such as biology, chemistry, neuroscience, physiology, and/or psychology). Sports trainers with a science background are also welcome to apply.

Job Duties:

Duties for QEEG assessment: Will place non-invasive 19-channel electrodes on the patient’s scalp using neuro-conductive gel to gather data for Brain Maps/QEEG (Quantitative Electroencephalography). Will make sure the electrodes are properly placed to gather appropriate brainwave signals for impedance check. Will enter information into the files on the patient’s history.

Duties for Neurofeedback training:

Will enter the data into the computer to start neurofeedback training. Will make sure the electrodes are properly placed to gather appropriate brainwave signals. Will place 1-6 electrodes on top of the patient’s scalp using neuro-conductive gel to train the appropriate brainwaves during neurofeedback training sessions. Will run neurofeedback protocols, as provided by the doctor. Will coach and encourage patients during their neurofeedback training. Will implement therapeutic breathing exercises when necessary during the neurofeedback training for relaxation strategies. Will complete progress notes after the training sessions. We are looking for a potential hire who is seeking a long-term position, is tech-savvy, highly organized, passionate about the neuroscience field, and works efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The role will start as a part-time position (2 days per week) with the possibility of growing into a full-time role.
