We use a multi-pronged approach that integrates structural biology with cutting-edge protein engineering techniques, such as directed evolution, to develop immunotherapeutics. Specifically, we are developing agents to bolster the function of T cell-related therapies (CAR T cells, TILs) through the targeting of immune checkpoints and developmental signaling pathways. Our group works together with a multidisciplinary team of immunologists, molecular oncologists, and physician-scientists, which provides a unique environment for facilitating clinical translation of therapeutic candidates. Although molecular biology experience is required, we welcome applications from those with diverse backgrounds, including immunology, cell biology, and bioengineering. Position highlights In addition to the research, the position will have a focus on career development including grant writing, scientific writing/presentation, mentorship of junior members of the lab, networking, and building collaborations.

Responsibilities:

Candidates will work with a team of immunologists, molecular oncologists, and clinicians to conduct translational research in a highly collaborative environment Using directed evolution, structural analysis, biophysical and cellular assays to engineer proteins for immunotherapy applications Mentoring graduate students and technicians Composing manuscripts and postdoctoral fellowships, assisting with grant applications Credentials and qualifications: PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Bioengineering, Biophysics or a related field. Demonstrated expertise in molecular biology is required. Expertise in structural biology (x-ray crystallography/cryoEM) or in display technology (yeast/phage display) is beneficial but not necessary.
