OPS BIOLOGICAL SCIENTIST IV
Your Specific Responsibilities:
The Bureau of Communicable Diseases, HIV/AIDS Section has an opening for an OPS Evaluation and Prevention Epidemiologist for the Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) grant. This position will evaluate and analyze programmatic data at state and each EHE county (Broward, Duval, Hillsborough, Miami-Dade, Orange, Palm Beach, and Pinellas); analyze and assess efficiencies in activities and strategies surrounding EHE pillars; assist the HIV Surveillance and Prevention Programs under EHE with grant deliverables and provide technical assistance; community engagement and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders including CDC, state agencies, academic institutions, Ryan White Part A, and other key partners; lead data dissemination, expectation will be to lead evaluation studies, complete IRB reviews, publish/review DOH-driven scientific manuscripts and materials for the community; collaborate to make programmatic recommendations for improved strategies and activities based on evidence-based evaluation of current and new innovative programs; assist with improving data systems, data sharing, and programmatic practices; and other duties as assigned as needed. This position will also serve as the EHE PrEP Coordinator, working in collaboration with and advising county health departments (CHDs), community-based organizations (CBOs), and health care providers and facilities on the incorporation of biomedical HIV prevention interventions into HIV and STD prevention services. Specifically, this position serves as the programmatic lead for PrEP and nPEP services and is responsible for increasing awareness and uptake of PrEP in Florida’s EHEs counties. This position reports to the Prevention Program Manager for the
