Must be experienced in wetland delineation, wildlife surveys, vegetation mapping, plant identification, proficient with a chainsaw/herbicide application and technical report writing. Additional desired experience includes proficiency in AutoCAD and GPS experience. Having previously worked in Florida is a required. Must have 4 years experience in professional chainsaw work and exotic species spraying/ maintenance .

Job Summary:

The experienced biologist will perform outdoor field operations associated with the treatment and inspection of preserves, wetlands, and natural areas to control invasive plants. This will also include tasks such as wildlife surveys, tree surveys, environmental assessments, and seagrass surveys. Top Pay for Qualified Experienced Aquatic Herbicide Applicators with chainsaw experience. Lead crew during exotic species clearing and planting on restoration projects. Help restore Florida native environments with planting and seeding along with regular exotic maintenance. Knowledge of native plants and wildlife as well as experience in natural area restoration work is a required. Work will involve the use of 4-wheel drive trucks, and trailers depending on the site. Experience with trailers is required as well as the ability to carry heavy loads (< 40 lbs) while traversing uneven terrain is a must. Duties Lead and manage a team during exotic vegetation removal projects Oversee restoration planting projects Be able to load a trailer with restoration materials and drive it to job sites Perform tree survey data collection to support ongoing projects. Complete wildlife surveys, environmental assessments, and compile data. Maintain equipment used for planting and exotic work (chainsaws, augers, etc) Implement project plans and communicate clearly and effectively. Train team members on sop's and safety procedures. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and maintain accurate documentation of spray events. Skills Skilled with a chainsaw and various clearing equipment. Strong knowledge small engine repair. Experience with operating an tractor and excavator. Familiarity with Florida flora and fauna and the common habits found in the area. FDACS Applicator license with 4 years of experience spraying and using a chainsaw in a professional setting. Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data accurately. Knowledge of ecological tools for data analysis is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective team collaboration. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in field settings.
