The research assistant will be in charge ofanizing and maintaining a Drosophila laboratory. All husbandry and stock maintenance of the flies will bepleted under this position. Assistant willplete Drosophila longevity experiments. This position will be in charge of all ordering and maintenance of the laboratory as well as supervision of undergraduate workers; both paid workers and those seeking credit hours. Work on molecular biology and data analysis is also preferred, and training will be provided. Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to
Drosophila husbandry and maintenance of lifespan experiments. Perform general laboratory maintenance andanization. Supervise undergraduate researchers Molecular biology (RNA and protein work). Conduct data analysis. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, social sciences, natural sciences, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in a research or clinical setting.
OR
Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, social sciences, natural sciences, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years’ experience in a research or clinical area.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in molecular biology and statistical analyses is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and otherputer softwaredatabases.
Basic understanding of laboratory techniques.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbalmunication skills. Detailoriented with stronganizational and critical thinking skills.
ABILITIES

Shift Days; Monday Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required).
Salary Range $.$. per hour.
Pay Band B Salary to bemensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimummidpoint) of the position.
