Full Job Description SUMMARY:
The position as a Biologist I is a position of considerable responsibility and opportunity requiring you to work on multiple projects and perform assigned tasks with a variety of involvement from other Providence staff members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) : B.S. in Biology, Forestry, Fisheries, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, or closely related field. 0-3 years of experience. Coursework in wetland processes and/or plant identification preferred. Ability to provide cooperation and coordination with other Providence media groups. Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an insurable driving record. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with performing delineations of wetlands/waters of the U.S. per U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) requirements and prepare wetland data reports/requests for Preliminary Determinations to submit to the USACE. Assist with performing threatened and endangered (T&E) species and habitat survey for assistance with formal or informal Section 7 consultations with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Support permit application preparation and monitoring of USACE Section 10/404 permit applications, LDENR/USACE Joint Permit Applications, Section 401 Water Quality Certifications requests, LDWF Scenic River Permits, and any other federal/state/local permits. Travel regularly throughout south Louisiana and the Gulf Coast Region to various field sites; travel to other areas may be required. Provide support for field efforts with other departments as needed and as availability allows. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team. Safety compliance with all client and internal requirements/training. Other duties as assigned.
