Description:
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct independent research on retrotransposon biology. This position involves participation in research projects focused on the genomic content, expression, mobilization mechanisms, and disease contributions of retrotransposons. Studies will use genetically modified animal models as well as in vitro and ex vivo systems, including cell lines and both humans and animal tissues. The Postdoc fellow will plan and perform experiments, analyze and summarize data, and contribute to writing manuscipts and grant proposals in collaboration with the Principle Investigator. Research results will be submittted for publication in peer-reviwed scientific journals.
Qualifications:
1. Ph.D. degree in biological sciences, M.D., or its foreign equivalent 2. Knowledge of and skills in genetics and molecular biology 3. Hands on experience with CRISPR a/i system 4. Hands on experience with NGS data files processing and downstream DGE, pathway, and ontology analyses using R-packages. 5. Hands on experience in basic coding in Python or other languages. 6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills, analytical skills, independent thinking, and attention to detail.
