job summary: The Functional Genomics group in the Target, Disease, and Systems Biology global function is seeking a collaborative and highly motivated research associate! This team is focused on generating scientific knowledge that translates into transformative therapies for patients with unmet medical need. Our multidisciplinary team works closely with diverse therapeutic area experts across immunology, ophthalmology, rare and neurological diseases, oncology, and gene therapy to identify and validate the next generation of groundbreaking therapeutics using CRISPR screens, automation, flow cytometry, and genomics. The successful candidate will contribute to drug target discovery projects for multiple indications and will gain deep training, knowledge and expertise in the application of cutting-edge technologies to drug development, including using CRISPR, siRNA, and pharmacological perturbations for target identification and validation.

Required Qualifications:
B.S. or M.S. in molecular biology, cell biology or related field is required. Additional experience would be valued.
Years of Experience:
1 – 3 YearsHands-on experience with one or more laboratory skill sets (molecular biology, cell biology, genomics)Demonstrated experience with mammalian cell culture and cellular assaysInstinctive team player with excellent interpersonal skills and great attention to detailSelf-motivated and driven to learn
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with gene editing tools such as CRISPR-Cas9Experience with molecular and biochemical assays, such PCR/qRT-PCR/NGS, western blot, and flow cytometryAbility to communicate in a clear and concise manner through written or oral communicationsPrior experience designing, validating, and optimizing cell-based assays. #LI-AM1 skills:
