Job Description

Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary There is a research opportunity in the Mouse Cardiovascular Phenotyping Core under the Direction of Carla J Weinheimer – Professor of Medicine. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join a vibrant and busy research team focused on providing surgical, imaging, and functional evaluations of murine cardiovascular physiology. We are a long established fee-for-service core that provides services to WashU and other academic and industry partners. You will join an experienced staff with many years of animal physiology experience. Our core is engaged in the latest state-of-the-art murine cardiovascular research and development of new protocols, techniques, and services. Specifically this position will be involved in many surgical and imaging procedures and development of new areas of research.

Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Working Conditions:

This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Salary Range:

More About This Job Preferred Qualifications:

A good understanding of anatomy and physiology and a background in the biological sciences is highly preferred. Ability to work independently and communicate with core users. Knowledge of general lab equipment. Some knowledge of basic rodent care and the ability to handle and care for mice.
