Exciting Opportunity at

MSK:

The Epidemiology and BiostatisticsServices is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow in GeneticEpidemiology to join the team. We are seeking highly talented andmotivated candidates interested in quantitative epidemiology andradiogenomics research in breast cancer and glioma. The successfulcandidate will join the interdisciplinary research teams of Drs.

Jonine Bernstein and Ronglai Shen bridging both the Epidemiologyand Biostatistics Services. The fellow will primarily devote timeto NCI-funded multi-center research studies focused onunderstanding the joint roles of genetics and treatment in theetiology of breast cancer and glioma. However, there will also beopportunities to develop epidemiologic studies focused on imagingbiomarkers of cancer risk, cancer treatment-related issuesincluding the influence of radiation therapy on non-canceroutcomes, and genetic predisposition to cancer. The fellow willplay a leading role on research projects, have the chance topresent research findings at national scientific meetings, developgrant writing skills and to learn from a cadre of otherpostdoctoral fellows and mentors.

Key Qualifications:
  • A doctoraldegree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related quantitativediscipline, including but not limited to population health,genetic/molecular, genetics, statistical genetics or environmentalhealth.
  • Strong understanding of quantitative methods, studydesign, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Experience workingwith large genetic and population-based data sets, SEER, andproficiency in a statistical programming language, includingR/python or SAS.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
