Job Description
Organization Overview The Laboratory of Molecular Genetics and Immunology is focused on dissecting the cellular and molecular mechanisms governing the generation of antibody specificity and the translation of that specificity into cellular responses. Our work seeks to identify the genetic components that initiate B cell activation upon antigenic challenge,the controls that maintain tolerance both centrally and in the periphery,and the mechanisms that govern the coupling of antibody specificity to effector cell response. Overview The Research Assistant in this position will conduct in vivo tumor challenge studies using a novel antibody therapeutic treatment on a humanized animal model specific for this antibody.
Responsibilities Responsibilities include the following:
Tumor challenge studies in an animal model Protein production and purification In vitro cell culture assays Characterization of post-mortem tissue samples from tumor studies Qualifications A Bachelor of Science degree is required. The candidate must have previous experience with cell culture, be willing to work with animal models, and be well organized. Previous laboratory experience working with in vivo animal models, protein production and purification (specifically antibodies), as well as mastery in cell culture techniques, is preferred. The hiring range provided represents The Rockefeller University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
