Scientist- Protein Purification Position Available In Westchester, New York

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our ProteinDevelopment group within the Therapeutic Proteins department. Youwill support purification & biochemical characterization of proteinreagents. As a Scientist, a typical day might include: Conductingprotein purification using an KTA AVANT or Pure chromatographysystem Carrying out LAL (limulus amebocyte lysate) testing forbacterial lipopolysaccharide endotoxin Doing proteincharacterization of reagents by Western blotting, SDS PAGEelectrophoresis, SEC chromatography, spectrophotometry, etc.

Conjugating protein reagents to biotin, fluorophores (e.g. Alexa &PE), & other tags Performing antibody purification working in ateam for small scale production in a fast pace setting Conductingprotein expression in E. coli, refolding of inclusion bodies, anddeveloping methods of protein purification Interpreting data &documenting findings in electronic notebook (ELN) This role mightbe for you if you: Can work productively in a fast-pacedcollaborative team Have strong organizational skills and excellentverbal and written communication skills Enjoy working productivelyin a fast-paced collaborative environment Have an eye for detailand pride yourself on the quality of your work Enjoy working oncurrent problems while thinking of future solutions. In order to beconsidered for this role , you must have at least a BS/MS inMolecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry or related fieldwith 6 years of relevant experience in proteinpurification/characterization. E.coli expression and purificationare required. We need someone with a solid understanding of proteinbiochemistry. Must have hands on experience with Affinity, IonExchange, Reverse Phase, & Size Exclusion chromatography.

Experience with automated liquid handlers is advantageous.

Experience with Spectrophotometry, SDS-PAGE electrophoresis &Western blotting is required. Additionally, experience with thesolubilization, handling, & characterization of peptides is a plus.
